Throughout his wonderful career Silvio Zanon has sung pricipal roles in some of the most important theatres in the world such as: La Scala, Milan, the Bolshoi Theatre - Moscow, Wiener Staatsoper, Liceu - Barcelona, Bunkamura - Tokyo, Megaton - Athens, Deutsche Oper - Berlin, to mention but a few. Luciano Pavarotti intoduced him to his pupils saying, “this is how you sing” and Franco Zeffirelli, personally, gave him one of his own paintings, as a memento of the work done in the production of Tosca, to mark the one hundredth anniversary of the Rome Opera House, where he also received both critical and audience acclaim from, amongst others, Nobel Prize winner, Rita Levi Montalcini. He is a regular guest on television both for the RAI and Mediaset, in programmes with Maurizio Costanzo, Franco di Mare, Sonia Grey, and Gigi Marzullo. In 2002 he took part in the film, “Italian for beginners”, directed by Lone Schefrig, which went on to win the, Silver Bear, at the, Berlin International film Festival. For his services to music, in 2010, Silvio, together with his wife, the soprano, Chiara Angella, received a, highly prestigious, international prize, the Santa Caterina d’Oro”. Chiara and Silvio created the, “Progetto voce”, voice academy and cultural association in 2009 of which Silvio is currently tutor and president.
